Each month St George's either brings in a "field trip" or hosts a holiday celebration. February is Dental Awareness Month, and we were so excited to have Dr Sara come visit us this month!
Dr Sara taught the children about the importance of dental hygiene. We learned that creating good dental habits from an early age helps ensure healthy teeth and gums throughout life.
Dr Sara went over which snacks are good and bad for our oral health, taught us how to brush properly, and even went over flossing. Then our students got to practice brushing and flossing on her stuffed friends! We love a hands-on approach to learning, and we think what Dr Sara taught us will stick.
Students went home with a goody bag filled with a toothbrush, floss, and information about keeping a healthy mouth. Getting kids excited about something is a great way to teach them important life skills. We're so thankful for Dr Sara!
